Treatment Plans

Should your child require dental treatment, these needs will be discussed with you by one of our staff members. In most cases, an additional appointment(s) will be needed to complete the treatment. The payment amount provided to you on your child’s treatment plan is an estimate only, and you may be asked to pay the difference between what your insurance company actually paid and the fees incurred at the time of service.

Special Procedures

IV and GA Sedation – At Just for Kids Dentistry, we have the ability to treat patients under General Anesthesia in a hospital/surgery center. Should your child require such treatment, these options will be discussed with you in detail. Depending on your insurance, a deposit may be required to reserve your hospital date. This deposit will apply to your balance. Once the appointment is scheduled, if you choose to cancel or reschedule the appointment this deposit is non-refundable. The deposit is required to schedule the appointment for both IV and GA Sedation; however, your estimated portion for treatment MUST be paid at least 3 days prior to the scheduled appointment.

We request that, should you have to cancel or reschedule your child’s appointment, you provide us at least 24 hours notice. If 2 broken/missed appointments occur or 2 cancellations without at least 24 hours notice, we reserve the right NOT to schedule any subsequent appointments. We also reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of $25.

Preventive Appointments – At all initial and recall exam appointments the following services will be completed for your child: exam, prophylaxis (cleaning), radiographs as deemed appropriate by Dr. Sakai for the exam, fluoride treatment, and preventive sealants.

Operative Appointments – We will make every attempt to treat your child in a manner that is safe for not only your child but also office staff.
We reserve the right to schedule certain types of appointments (fillings, extractions, cleanings, etc.) at specific times of the day.

Parent Participation

Preventive Appointments – Parents are always welcome and encouraged to accompany their child in the treatment areas during routine cleaning visits.

Operative Appointments – Parents are not allowed in treatment areas during operative procedures for children four and over.

Covid-19 Protocol

Our office has implemented new safety protocols and state of the art technology to keep our patients and staff safe. In addition to moving our chairs and seating areas to accommodate social distancing, we have upgraded our air purification and suction systems to ensure that the air in our office is additionally filtered.

As a dental office we have always employed very high standards of cleanliness for our instruments, surfaces and spaces. We continue to use hospital grade disinfectant and sterilizing equipment in these areas.

Our new protocols for patients have been determined by both the government of Washington State as well as the ADA (American Dental Association), we ask for your cooperation as we continue to follow their advice to promote a safe environment for our patients and staff.

To maintain social distancing we are asking family groups to remain together whenever possible, this means that if your child or children are moving from the lobby to the back office either for a procedure or for a cleaning and checkup, parents, guardians, and siblings must either accompany them or wait in the car. For your convenience the option for our staff to call you when your child/children are complete and it is time to check out is available if you decide to wait in your vehicle. The only exception to this is for our oral sedation patients and their families. In addition we also ask that you begin the check in process by calling our office once you are safely parked. This allows our staff to analyze the amount of space available in our lobby and advise you whether or not our safety guidelines allow for you to enter.

In accordance with Washington state mandate, we are asking all patients over the age of two years to wear a face mask or covering over the nose and mouth before entering the lobby. Face shields is an acceptable alternative for those who cannot wear masks nor have their nose and mouth covered. In the instance a patient or family member cannot wear either, please call us! We will do our best to work with you to accommodate such needs with the recognition that the times when we can schedule these patients are limited due to safety guidelines we must follow in order to continue operating.

After you have been given the go ahead to enter the lobby please proceed to the front desk so that we can complete your check in. We will ask everyone entering to sanitize their hands with our provided sanitizer, if you or your child are sensitive to sanitizer please let us know and we will provide the code to the bathroom where hands can be washed instead [In the Bonney lake location our bathroom is in the office, and the hand sanitizer station is just inside the front door to the lobby]. Our staff will also need to take the temperatures of everyone entering the lobby; our thermometer is touch free and will not come in contact with you. Finally, we are required to go through a standardized questionnaire, in addition to our usual paperwork at check in. The whole check in process can take up to ten minutes for existing patients. We would like new patients to arrive fifteen to twenty minutes early to give extra time for your first intake.

Our team thanks you for your continuing patience and cooperation as we navigate these challenging times! We hope that this announcement has answered all of your questions, but if it has not please don’t hesitate to call us. The comfort of our patients is important to us and our team would be more than happy to speak with you!
